Hely Custom Contracting undertook our deck re-construction project from A to Z. Darryl made valuable suggestions at the re-design stage that helped keep costs in line and then executed the new design to a tee. The result was a beautiful deck that reduced maintenance and opened up a new area for summer time enjoyment by our pool. Most appreciated was the fact that Darryl started the work on schedule and finished on time and throughout dealt with the project in a thoroughly professional manner. The attention to detail and the resulting finished project exceeded our expectations.

Hely Custom Contracting has completed two projects at our Lake Muskoka island summer cottage: re-shingled an old boathouse and building a new small dock from scratch – to replace a dock destroyed by the 2013 flood. The property has been in our family for nearly one hundred years and, is often in need of upgrades or routine maintenance. Over the years it has often been difficult even to get a contractor to come and give an estimate, and once a contract is in place, to begin and complete projects on time and on budget. Our experience with Darryl has been completely different. He makes and keeps appointments. He’s smart and makes suggestions about how to structure a project to achieve desired goals while controlling cost. He begins and completes projects as promised – on time and on budget. He is usually on site, working alongside his crew. His completed work is excellent and he and his crew leave the work site clean. While our projects have not yet tapped into Darryl’s “custom contracting” expertise, we would not hesitate to engage him, or recommend him, for more complex construction and renovation projects.

Absolutely loved my experience with Darryl and Hely Custom Contracting. The work was done beautifully, on time, friendly clean professional guys! Would definitely recommend.
